• The Eucharist is God’s response to the deepest hunger of the human heart, the true hunger. In the Eucharist, Jesus offers himself for the life of the world, just as Jesus did not keep his life for himself, Christians are called to make their lives a gift for others. 

• The Spirit of God, who in the beginning transformed chaos into cosmos, is at work to bring about this transformation in every person. The Spirit’s work in us is powerful, as symbolised by the signs of wind and fire, but it is also gentle and welcoming to all.

• Every effort made in the vocation that we have embraced and seek to live out will never be in vain.

• Human trafficking is one of the most terrible scourges of our time that disrespects and disregards human dignity and delivers large profits to people without moral scruples.

• Euthanasia is a ‘failure of love’ and palliative care is a genuine form of compassion, for it responds to suffering, whether physical, emotional, psychological, or spiritual, by affirming the fundamental and inviolable dignity of every person, especially the dying, and helping them to accept the inevitable moment of passage from this life to eternal life.

• Humility is the source of peace in the world and in the Church.

• Christian maxim ‘love your enemy’ represents the highest expression of Christian love, as it embraces what is not lovable; it offers forgiveness.

• Let us show our tender love for the grandparents and the elderly members of our families and spend time with those who are disheartened and no longer hope in the possibility of a different future.

• The number of births is the first indicator of a people’s hope. Without children and young people, a country loses its desire for the future.

• Hope is a theological virtue. It does not emanate from us, it is not an obstinacy we want to convince ourselves of, but it is a gift that comes directly from God.

• Let us think a moment of our friends and thank the Lord for them.
