• The Church and society need to defend and support the family.

• Families should pray together every day for the gift of peace.

• Forgiveness is a gift born of the grace poured out by Christ upon married couples whenever they turn to him and allow him to act.

• God comes into the world in littleness, teaches us to love littleness and wants us to understand that littleness is the way to authentic greatness.

• The ancient Greek word eucharistia meaning thanksgiving was adopted by the early Church as a word for the sacred host, the Eucharist. For us Christians, thanksgiving is at the heart of our faith and life.

• The value of a person is not determined by ability, but by the simple fact that he or she is a person, the image of God.

• Let us learn from St Joseph how to cultivate spaces for silence, and his silence did not indicate passivity; it is a silence full of listening, an industrious silence that brings out his great interiority by which we got the Word, Jesus. 

• In the deepest sense, faith is not an idea or a system of morality, but a reality, a beautiful truth that does not depend on us and leaves us amazed. 

• Sloth is a great enemy of spiritual life, slips into sadness, which takes away the enjoyment of life and the desire to act.   

• Three paths for building lasting peace are promoting dialogue between generations, investing in education, and improving labour conditions.

• We encounter Jesus in the faces of migrants.

• Don’t be ‘prisoners of the cell phone’ but cultivate the mystique of togetherness.

• Prayer is the most important means of communication.
