POPE TALK | KAIROS GLOBAL | DECEMBER 2023

Author: Dr Kochurani Joseph
The love of God and the love of neighbour are inextricably bound together. By loving others, we reflect the Father’s love like mirrors.
The exercise of co-responsibility is essential for synodality and is necessary at all levels of the Church and every Christian is a missionary in the world.
Very often our existence shouts worldly things, it calls out many stupid things, strange things, and no, all our existence must shout the Gospel.
To reform the Church, adore God and love others. That is the great and perennial reform.
Do not forget your life and faith is a gift from God. When someone forgets this gratitude to God, he ends up no longer facing his own situation and his own limits with the joy of feeling loved and saved, but with the sad illusion of needing neither love nor salvation.
As part of the universe, all of us are linked by unseen bonds and together form a kind of universal family, a sublime communion which fills us with a sacred, affectionate and humble respect.
I ask everyone to accompany this pilgrimage of reconciliation with the world that is our home and to help make it more beautiful, because that commitment has to do with our personal dignity and highest values.
Efforts by households to reduce pollution and waste, and to consume with prudence, are creating a new culture.
Forgiveness takes away nothing from you but adds dignity to the person; it makes us lift our gaze from ourselves and towards others, to see them as fragile as we are, yet always brothers and sisters in the Lord.
DecemberFor persons with disabilities We pray that people living with disabilities may be at the centre of attention in society, and that institutions may offer inclusive programmes which value their active participation. |
