God's Crazy People

Shalom World USA and Jesus Youth have joined hands to synergise the production and broadcast capabilities of Shalom and the rich resources of Jesus Youth to build, strengthen and empower young people across the globe lead a Christ-centred life and to share the Good News.

Since its founding five years ago, Shalom World TV has featured Jesus Youth conferences, concerts, testimonies, and interviews. Now, Shalom World and Jesus Youth will magnify this content, jointly offering compelling television shows crafted to address today’s critical needs.

Their first TV series, “God’s Crazy People”, is a weekly programme which premiered on 5th September. The twenty-minute-long episode includes an interview with a full-timer, sharing by a senior leader of the movement and the respective full-timer's mentor. Manoj Sunny hosts the show and the episodes air on Shalom World and on Jesus Youth International's YouTube channel and Facebook page.

Produced using virtual production technology, “God’s Crazy People” explores the experiences of twenty-eight young international full-time volunteers, who set aside studies and careers to pursue God’s call. Giving a year as a full-time volunteer for Christ, these modern day missionaries provide a panorama of positive Christian role models – a counterpoint to secular “stars” craving worldly success.

The full-time volunteer training has been happening for the past twenty-nine years at the national level in India. In 2006, the full-time volunteer training was organised for the first time at an international level in Sri Lanka. The subsequent batches of international trainings have been conducted in Thailand. On a few occasions separate trainings were organised in Uganda for participants from the African continent. Around 1,800 participants have undergone this training programme thus far.

Watch the inspiring stories of twenty-eight Jesus Youth full-timers who conquered lands, far from their homes, with God's love!  They were crazy enough to take a leap of faith in the face of a world that thought them foolish to waste one of the prime years of their life. While their peers were busy making a living, they dedicated their youth to a God-given mission.
