Divyakarunyaththinte Vanambadi is a newly published book on the inspiring life of the late Ajna George, an exemplary Jesus Youth (a Catholic lay movement), member of the JY Kerala Music Ministry and of the JY Teens Ministry. 

Ajna George reached her eternal abode on 21st January 2022. She was born in Vyttila, Kochi as the second daughter of Muttungal George and Achamma on 2nd April 1994. Her piety towards the Holy Eucharist was notable even at a tender age. A retreat during her Plus Two (HSC), ‘PowerTeens’, conducted at St Teresa’s Higher Secondary School brought her to the Jesus Youth movement. In 2012, she joined Sacred Heart College Thevara for her undergraduate course and eventually became the campus coordinator of Jesus Youth. During her years of degree and post-graduation at SH College, she was actively involved in winning students to JY and for the Blessed Sacrament. Ajna George shouldered the leadership of many activities in and around the campus, all to give witness to the love of Christ.

She cleared the UGC-NET examination during her PG course and was appointed lecturer at Rajagiri College, Ernakulam. She was diagnosed with sarcoma (jaw bone cancer) on the very same day she received her appointment letter from the college. After the surgery and chemotherapy, she worked as a guest lecturer at Sacred Heart College Thevara for a year but couldn’t continue when the disease reappeared. She fought cancer valiantly for five years, receiving strength from the daily Holy Communion. 

Divyakarunyaththinte Vanambadi is written by Fr Joseph Kumbuckal (Sabu Thomas) Ajna’s teacher and faculty in-charge of Jesus Youth at SH College, and Jith George who was her close friend. Kairos Media is proud to publish this book as we believe that the life of Ajna is definitely an inspiration for youth to follow Christ and to live a virtuous life.
