GRACE, WHAT ELSE? | KAIROS GLOBAL | AUGUST 2023

Last month was an incredibly challenging time for us at Kairos Media. Our pending bills had accumulated to over two-and-a-half million Indian Rupees, and we found ourselves unable to pay the salaries of our ten full-time staff members. As the end of the month approached, we felt trapped with no apparent solution in sight. It was a difficult situation, to say the least.

But then, out of nowhere, one of our colleagues stepped forward with a remarkable act of kindness. They offered to lend us hundred-and-thirty- thousand Rupees, allowing us to pay the minimal salaries to our dedicated staff. Their support was an immense relief for all of us, lifting a heavy burden off our shoulders. It's in times like these that the power of friendship and solidarity truly shines.

And just when we thought things couldn't get any better, we received incredible news. Kairos Media was honoured with not one, but three awards from the prestigious Catholic Media Association. This was our first time submitting entries, and to receive three awards was truly remarkable. The sense of joy and accomplishment within our team was overwhelming. We couldn't be prouder of our work and the recognition it has received.

These awards are not just a testament to Kairos Media but also a validation of the entire Jesus Youth movement that supports Kairos. We owe a great debt of gratitude to all the ground-level workers who tirelessly strive to bring our content to the readers and also the leadership which facilitates it. Their dedication and unwavering commitment has played an instrumental role in our success.

Moreover, we firmly believe that it is grace from above that has sustained us throughout our journey. We are immensely thankful to everyone who has played a part in our achievements. From our loyal readers and those who pray for us to the talented writers and designers who bring our stories to life, and the generous individuals who support us financially without depending on advertisements, and not once but for a very long period of time – each and every one of them has contributed to our growth and success.

Despite the challenging times we faced, the support and kindness we received from our colleague and the honour of receiving three awards have reminded us of the resilience and blessings that surround us. We remain committed to our mission, grateful for the recognition we have received, and motivated to continue serving our readers and the community with excellence.
