In his 2024 letter on the role of literature in formation, Pope Francis reflected on how writing, reading, and poetry contribute to the formation of the human person in profound and varied ways.

At Kairos Global, the editorial team, through its careful selection of themes, writers, artwork, editing, and presentation, seeks to form the reader, who may ultimately encounter Christ. Our mission is to touch the hearts of our readers, leading them to open themselves to the transcendent and, ultimately, to Christ Himself.

Each monthly issue explores themes that engage the realities of the world around us, such as Artificial Intelligence, sports, love for the poor, the Eucharist, Christian revival, and many more. Through these writings, we witness how Christians engage contemporary issues, how young people become living witnesses of the Gospel in diverse fields, and how Christian spirituality opens these themes to the heart of the Gospel. Through their experiences and realities, the writers give expression and meaning to subjects that may often feel distant or difficult to articulate. To give expression to the inexpressible is truly a gift. Kairos Global has continually excelled in this mission. The numerous recognitions it receives each year at the Catholic Media Association awards in the United States stand as a testament to its commitment to excellence.

One of the greatest privileges of being part of the Kairos Global team is the opportunity to encounter the voices and perspectives of so many different authors. As Pope Francis reminds us, reading often helps us ‘listen to another voice.’ Even when we are familiar with a topic, encountering another person’s perspective or witness can expand our hearts and deepen our understanding. In moments when we become confined to our own thoughts and experiences, another person’s voice can draw us beyond ourselves and remind us that reality is greater than what we alone can see or imagine. Is this not also what Jesus does for us? At times when we believe we already have the answers, or when we become consumed with looking inward, Christ comes to offer us a new perspective, a new way of seeing. He opens our eyes to realities beyond ourselves.

This is our hope for every reader of Kairos Global. As you journey through these pages, may the titles, the artwork, the themes, and the articles expand your mind, open your heart, and lead you to encounter something beyond yourself: the transcendent, the Risen Christ, who continues to make Himself present each day in the world around us.
