We are into the second month of 2021 and yet it is with eager expectation we await what lies ahead in the New Year and the surprises it may bestow. One of my favourite Bible verses is Romans 8:28, And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Even regarding the pandemic-ridden 2020, I believe that God had a certain purpose for it.

2020 was great year for Kairos. It was a year of great achievement and satisfaction.

  • Kairos could publish a well-appreciated book on the life and contributions of Fr. Abraham Pallivathukal, one of the pioneers of the Jesus Youth movement.

  • Following the 2018 Kerala deluge, when our office got inundated, we had shifted premises close to the present offices of Jesus Youth National and International. But it was only towards the end of 2020 that we could complete furnishing it.

  • Due to the pandemic and resultant lockdown, Kairos was able to capitalise on the sudden precedence for online platforms by successfully launching its webinar series.

  • All the preparations to launch the new magazine, Kairos Buds for 3 to 12 year-olds took place in 2020.

  • Kairos could successfully launch a subscription campaign which drew lot of attention and interest from a large number of people.

  • Several books are scheduled for publication by Kairos which surely is a significant milestone in the history of the ministry which is in the twenty-fourth year of existence.

  • Kairos could bring out another publication, Kairos Buds Diary which has become an instant hit among the target group.

  • A new poster series, Catholic Contributions was launched highlighting Catholics’ contribution to the field of science and technology.

  • Kairos has become a notable presence in various popular social media platforms.

The list can continue with many more such blessings we were bestowed with in the year 2020.

So, was it a year without challenges, pain and struggles? Of course not. It was a year in which we were subjected to extreme levels of hardships and struggles. But as we read in John 12:24, Truly, truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. We are happy to be that small grain which died and bore fruit.

At Kairos, we are contented and satisfied. We are thankful to the almighty and to all of you for loving and supporting us.

We wish that you also live a contented life experiencing the caring presence of God throughout 2021 and life ahead.
