UGANDA MISSION TRAINING | KAIROS GLOBAL | SEPTEMBER 2019

Jesus Youth first started in Uganda in 2010 as a mission outreach by a few missionaries from the Middle East. Slowly the movement grew over the years. Now, there are around 500 Jesus Youth spread over 7 dioceses, 46 prayer groups in 32 parishes and 15 institutions. This year we conducted a Leadership training, a Mission Exposure training and the Fulltimership training. Here we share the experiences of few participants from the trainings...

I'm very much grateful to God for giving me an opportunity to attend the Jesus Youth full-time volunteer training in Uganda. I got to learn more about the Church, God and ministry. The training also helped me to improve in areas like personal prayer and time management. I was also very happy to see and to know about Jesus Youth Uganda. It really inspired me more as I'm also from Africa. The training helped me to prepare well for my one-year formation. I pray that God may give me the grace to live daily whatever I have learned during the training.

Leaders gathering was a great moment that provided distinctive formation for my life. It was a time of self-discovery. It was heartening to listen to the teachings of the various key leaders, and I was touched by their determination, dedication, devotion and discipline. It challenged me to be committed wherever I am, serving God especially in leadership. All in all, I feel blessed and privileged to be part of the Jesus Youth movement, and I am thankful to the Almighty God for that.

I am immensely filled to the brim with joy to share with you my personal experience of the Mission Exposure Training Program. I am glad that I wasn't there by accident but by choice and was chosen by the Lord. In this training, I was able to discover a lot of things and know more about God. I saw how the Lord used different people to proclaim his name using the different gifts they had. These sessions were so touching that I realized I was missing a lot in my daily life. Within the training, we had a retreat whereby I really talked with my God without any disturbance, and felt I was in a safer place at that time and was able to resolve all the conflicts and doubts I had within myself. We always had adoration in the evening so here I talked with my Lord face to face and whenever I was talking to him, it was like I was with my real parent – my mother, father my everything. I felt like a little baby in his hands and was always filled with joy whenever we were in chapel for adoration. I really felt the Lord around me and I experienced the Lord's love. I felt my heart so much at peace that whenever we were concluding the adoration, I never wanted to leave the Chapel, wanted to stay there for the rest of my life with Him. I always got out of Chapel a totally changed and different person, healed, filled with joy and felt the presence of the Holy Spirit. I was ever asking myself – Is this really me? Is it me the real Anitah! For that I am so grateful to the Lord, for opening up to me the miracles he did for me during the adoration and all I learnt from the sessions. I thank the Lord who chose me to attend the training because I was able to discover who I am, my uniqueness, how to conduct my personal prayers, how to evangelise with the Word of God and for all the nice songs I learnt and the good friends I made. I conclude by saying that I am proud and glad to be a Jesus Youth and a child of God. "The Lord is my Shepherd, there is nothing I lack." Psalms 23:1.
