• God's Kingdom grows quietly through love, not by force. It grows quietly through humility, patience and love rather than power. The Kingdom often appears in the ordinary moments of daily life, growing unnoticed yet constantly at work. Christians are called to recognise that the Kingdom grows even amid the presence of evil. This requires learning to discern the good that continues to emerge despite darkness, resisting the temptation to make hasty judgments, and patiently accompanying the gradual work of God's grace.

  
  

• Let us think of the privilege we have when we support the poor. Let us think of the sick, of people who have lost faith in life, of those who are overwhelmed by grief over the loss of loved ones, of the victims of wars, of hatred, of terrorism and of violence, of those persecuted for their faith and for justice, of prisoners, of those who have been left without work, without a home, of migrants who have not been humanely welcomed.

  
  

• Eucharistic spirituality strengthens communion. I would like to encourage you to continue to promote a Eucharistic spirituality within your local Churches, that is, a spirituality of ecclesial unity grounded in the charity that flows from the gift of our Lord in the Eucharist.  In this way, it is my hope that the bonds of communion within and between the local Churches will be strengthened and become an ever-greater sign of God’s presence in your countries. 

  
  

• God brings true fulfilment, not consumerism. Consumer culture can create ever new desires and offer solutions that fail to bring lasting fulfilment and can harm the human heart. Christians must learn to recognise the true treasure: a relationship with God that opens people to joy and helps them build better relationships with one another.

  
  

• Adopt a Gospel-centred approach. God’s way of acting must also become the way in which we live, both as individuals and as the Church, amidst the reality that surrounds us. We are called to adopt a Gospel-centred approach, without hastily opposing others through arrogant judgments, without imposing ourselves through power and force, and without losing trust in God’s work.

  
  

• May the winds of war not extinguish hope and return to dialogue. Let us not allow these winds to extinguish the flame of hope and peace, even when it seems fragile and flickering. I renew my hope that we will persevere on the path of dialogue, encounter and diplomacy. This is the only path capable of leading to a just and lasting peace, in which peoples can live in reconciliation, mutual security and respect for the dignity of every person.

a vital resource, so that everyone may have equal access to it.
