Midlands Spring Gathering, UK

The Midlands Spring Gathering and the JYUK Teams Training, conducted by Manoj Sunny, took place at Alton Castle Residential Retreat Centre from April 5-7, 2019. The gathering brought together youth and families from the Midlands region for a time of prayer and fellowship. Manoj Sunny shared his experience of individuals who walked with him on his faith journey and spoke of how we are all called to do the same, whilst also remembering and praying for those who have journeyed with us. This was followed by the election of the Midlands regional team. Next day, the group were joined by leaders from across the country where they reflected on the joy of ministry which arises from their first encounter with Jesus Christ. Participants were encouraged to remember and share their first encounter with Jesus. Manoj Sunny's sessions were both inspirational and uplifting.  It served as a reminder to all Jesus Youth leaders to continually question how the Kingdom of God is spreading through their lives and to nurture a real genuine apostolic zeal for winning souls. Focusing on St. Paul’s letter to Timothy, the group were urged to remember their first encounter when they were facing struggles in ministry work. 

Jesus Youth Pro-Life Gathering, India

The pro-life ministry was planted in the heart of Jesus youth by Dr Sindhu in the late 1990s.The Holy Spirit nurtured it and cause to flourish it, with various Pro-Life activities in India and across the globe. The dream of bringing together Jesus Youth Pro-Life leaders across India under the same roof came true during the JY Pro-life gathering at POC Cochin, Kerala, from March 9-10, 2019. Under the guidance of the Jesus Youth National Council, the Pro-life gathering saw around 25 leaders from across India including Kerala, Karnataka, Delhi, Goa, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra.

Each region presented their various pro-life initiatives. The roles and responsibilities were defined for key leaders in their regions. Challenges were shared and all decided to work with one heart and mind to overcome those difficult moments.

Fr. Vinoy Paikkattu, Manoj Sunny, Edward Edezhath along with Charles Bastian, Reji Francis and Deekshit Sebastian from Jesus Youth National and International Council gave insights in building a vision for the Pro-Life ministry in India. The gathering also saw the constitution of Jesus Youth National Pro-Life Team with Dino Raj Paul as the Co-ordinator.
