Jesus Youth Senior Leaders’ Formation Course

The “Jesus Youth Senior Leaders’ Formation Course” was held at Niveditha, Ernakulam from February 28 to March 3, 2019. 77 senior leaders who have been journeying with the movement for more than 25 years came together to reflect and share on how “Christ may be formed in them”.  They reflected on Personal Prayer, Word of God, Forgiveness, Inner Healing, Discipleship, Mission, and other relevant topics for a deeper relationship with HIM. 

It was a time of joy and renewal for these participants, many of whom have been with the movement since Jesus Youth’85. The presence of the pioneers, Fr Abraham Pallivathukal , Prof CC Alicekutty, Dr Edward Edezhath and Mr Baby Chacko was indeed a blessing. It was a time to reminisce as well as dream for the future of the movement. At the end of the program, His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Samuel Mar Irenios led the participants including 13 priests to take a formal commitment in the movement.  This was a historical event in the movement as this was the first batch of Jesus Youth to take the formal commitment.  

Jesus Youth Bahrain - 10th Anniversary

Jesus Youth Bahrain celebrated a grace filled 10th Anniversary of their presence in the Kingdom of Bahrain on March 9th 2019.  Around 135 Jesus Youth came together to celebrate this great milestone. The gathering was graced by the Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Catholic Church Fr. Xavier Marian D’Souza and the Chaplin of Jesus Youth Bahrain, Fr. Saji Thomas. The event started with a beautiful time of worship, followed by incredible dance performances by JY Kids, Teens and Youth. People took this momentous occasion to look back at their journey with the movement, and shared some of their life changing experiences. Fr Xavier applauded the youth for their enthusiasm and commitment to the church. Fr Saji shared his admiration for the missionary spirit and joyful presence of JY wherever they are present. The chant of “Every Jesus Youth is a Missionary” resounded in the halls as the day ended in great fervour and love. 

Jesus Youth Kuwait National Assembly

The National Assembly was held on 25 Feb 2019 at Holy Family Cathedral and the assembly was attended by 166 elected members from all over Kuwait. The reconstitution for the 2019-‘22 National Council was conducted and overseen by Mr. Shoy Thomas (JY International Coordinator). The new National coordinator is Rajeev Chacko and Jiss Jose is the assistant coordinator.
