HIS HEALING AMIDST THE HECTIC | KAIROS GLOBAL | JUNE 2022

Author: Soney Noble
Healing has been a continuous process as I experience the Lord at work in me at all times. I’ve often wondered about the great mystery of our body – all the parts working closely together, supporting the weak or suffering parts, helping it heal at the earliest.
I start the day with the Sign of the Cross, calling the Lord's protection and Lordship all through the day. After a small time of prayer and Word of God, a hectic day begins with unending targets to be met, demands from family members with a list of things to be done, etc. As I listen to each ‘must be done’, I offer it to the Lord for I need him to guide me to do it according to his plans. I’m just playing a small role in his bigger plan for our family and the whole world.
The day goes on at home and in the office as per the Lord's guidance. Often when I am conflicted, I surrender it to him and work on it. The Lord always shows me his confirmation, making things clear for me.
Lunch breaks are my favourite time as I get to spend it alone with the Lord in my office cabin. The Divine Mercy photo, my small prayer calendar with Bible verses, images of the Sacred Heart and Our Lady assure me of their holy presence. Spending time in silence in His holy presence refreshes the body, mind and soul.
Evenings are mostly filled with surprises as nothing can be planned in advance. Hence as I receive each request, I offer it to the Lord, trying to prioritise and complete as much as possible within the limited time. The rest, I leave to the Lord to handle; I have witnessed the Lord take control and handle matters, giving understanding to all concerned.
Our source of strength is the Eucharist. We try our best to attend it in the evening. That is our healing time when we surrender the whole day to the Lord and receive from him a renewing experience.
Family prayer is also a time of healing for us as a family, when we pray together and finally bless each other with the Lord's blessing. We have experienced powerful healing experiences during that time.
Starting with the cooking, cleaning, etc. the daily chores at home too are part of healing as the Lord reminds us that he is in power and helps to forgive and forget. Cleaning rooms, cooking, doing the laundry or the dishes are multiple reminders of his immense grace and mercy received through the sacraments. These help me deny myself and be the one he wants me to be, to fulfil his dream through me as a mother, wife, daughter, sister, professional, friend, etc.
Walking a few minutes daily, breathing fresh and pure air, enjoying the Lord’s loving presence in nature is also a healing experience after a hectic day.
