GOD'S PROVIDENCE - KAIROS THE BEST EXAMPLE | KAIROS GLOBAL | DECEMBER 2021

God's providence is his caring provision for his people’s needs as he guides them through life, accomplishing his purpose in them. Kairos, the media face of Jesus Youth, is, no doubt, the best example for it.

Kairos which had its humble beginnings in 1997 is in its Jubilee year. With three different magazines, Kairos is involved in various initiatives, reaching out to teens, youth and young families with the message of Christ, in a creative and youthful manner. It has an active presence on various social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. The two recent programmes on Kairos Media YouTube channel, Eddy Speaking and Praise Adonai (weekly praise and worship in English) are drawing a lot of attention. Kairos Media has recently released five books, one of which recounts the Kairos story. The 2022 edition of Kairos Buds Diary is also available.

Though unfamiliar with details, you may already know that bringing out magazines is not an easy task. A great deal of time and effort is involved in deciding suitable and relevant themes, choosing appropriate writers, collecting and editing the articles on time, aptly and attractively designing it, printing, packaging and dispatching it to the subscribers, handling the many issues, etc. 

For the survival of many publications, the most important source of income, along with subscriptions, is advertisements. But for Kairos, from the beginning, it was decided against commercial advertising. The only other option was to trust in God’s providence, seeking well-wishers to support Kairos financially. At present, at least half-a-million Indian rupees are needed every month for the magazines alone; publications of books, diaries, etc. will need additional financing. Though a pressing demand on the Kairos team, we have not given up as we are encouraged by the inspiring and touching feedback from readers and other stakeholders. 

That Kairos has been able to publish magazines for so a long period, that it is growing and expanding is definite proof of the loving providence of God. Struggles and pain are a constant but it seldom compares with the joy of knowing that ours also are the hands through which our dear Lord is working and touching lives.

The Kairos Team would like to invite all readers to join in this beautiful journey in whatever way possible. It can be through prayer, writing articles, supporting the distribution of magazines, sharing the good news through social media forums, providing finance, designing posters, sharing ideas, leading teams or volunteering to work in teams and numerous other ways.
