DEPRESSION AND THE DARK ENTITY | KAIROS GLOBAL | AUGUST 2023

Intro: We can drive away depression and find healing through prayer, writes Jacinta Heley, as she recounts a story of one such healing. 

‘Lupe’, short for ‘Guadalupe’, had been bedridden for a number of years, not with cancer or MS or any other degenerative disease – but with depression. Depression had placed her in bed for years, as it does many people, in an often hidden phenomenon.

Fr Blount, a famous missionary priest tells the story on Youtube¹. He was called to help her with her depression which is now a debilitating condition to many, particularly in the developed world.

Over the phone (because she lived an hour away) he asked her to repeat with him a simple prayer. Her voice was weak when he started talking with her, she could barely speak, ‘Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, save us and the whole world.’

Due to a special grace from God (Padre Pio also had this) he was able to view her room as he was helping her over the phone... He could see a dark entity present with her. He prayed the first ten repetitions. He heard her shout loudly through the phone, ‘I FEEL FIRE INSIDE MY BODY’ and then another ten. She shouted, ‘I FEEL ELECTRICITY UP AND DOWN MY BODY.’

They continued praying in groups of ten together, Father saying the first part, ‘Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ,’ and Lupe answering, ‘Save us and the whole world.’ With persistence and determination against the dark forces that had her in their grip they prayed 500 repetitions in total until the depression started to peel away like an onion – layer by layer. During the last 10 repetitions, he saw the dark entity leave. She exclaimed with joy that she was free, after many years.

We are in a battle for our souls. For many the solution to depression, after other lifestyle aspects have been addressed such as diet, exercise, sleep and counselling – is prayer and the determination to be fully delivered from the darkness that seeks to destroy us. Our Catholic faith has the fire power to release us from the clutches of the Evil One. The sacrament of confession is a natural exorcism that breaks the chains of the kingdom of darkness and Holy Communion is God dwelling in us. No evil entity would want to share the same space with the Lord after we have received Holy Communion.

Let’s pray for those around us who we can see are afflicted by the darkness. If they are too weak to pray for themselves let us carry them to the Lord in prayer, like the cripples in the Gospel. They could be family members or loved ones. Pray ‘Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ – save us and the whole world’ prayer (500 repetitions) and see miracles like the one Lupe experienced.

According to Father Blount a successful exorcist, he has seen at least 100 teenagers cured of depression in three minutes from the demons of depression and temptation to suicide after invoking the Precious Blood.
