Congratulations on the 100th issue of Kairos Global, and my appreciation to the team behind it over the years.

I have been doing the page named Pope Talk for the last seven years. When this role was entrusted to me by the Kairos team, I initially thought it was an easy job. Only later did I come to realise that, in a month, the Pope speaks more than twenty thousand words to various audiences. To capture it into two hundred words, and that too in bullet form, without losing major messages, was really a task for me, primarily because some of the messages have a Euro-centric nature, some for particular audiences, etc.  I had to choose those with universal application, primarily from a youth perspective, since Kairos Global focuses primarily on youth. Besides, with AI and social media, I found that many messages attributed to the Pope with great publicity are incorrect, therefore I refer only to official sites like Vatican.va or zenith.org.  

What I personally gained from this work is that I could quote up-to-date messages of the Pope in my speeches and articles. Also, I found this page helps many Jesus Youth to root themselves more into Catholicism and in alignment with the magisterium of the Catholic Church

Dr Kochurani Joseph, MA, MBA, PhD is an Associate Professor and Research Guide in Economics. She is one of the pioneers of the Jesus Youth movement, having started her journey with JY from 1983. She serves the Church as the official spokesperson and member of the Theology Forum of the Syro-Malabar Church. She was the former National Vice President of Catholic Council of India, a forum for policy making and advisory body of the Catholic Bishops Conference of India.
