Intro: On the fourth anniversary of the passing of Ajna George, Tania Rose Josun writes about how Ajna is still bringing people to a greater love for Jesus in the Holy Eucharist.

Let me tell you a true story. After morning Mass in her parish, Mrs Achamma George went to the church where her youngest daughter was buried to make arrangements for the fourth anniversary Mass. The new parish priest there recounted a story that he had recently heard from the bishop.

A man living in a foreign country had a dream in which he saw the beatific face of a young girl. So moved was he by her that he later began to search for her, first among the saints, then among those declared blessed. His search didn’t end there. Some time later and quite by chance, he came across a YouTube video about the life and death of a girl and her amazing devotion to the Eucharist — the very same girl from his dream! From information he began to gather, the man got in touch with the Archdiocese of Verapoly (Kerala, India) and shared with the bishop how, having no previous knowledge of her, he saw Ajna George in a dream.

Ajna George was 28-years-old when she succumbed to her battle with jaw cancer. A member of the Jesus Youth movement, Ajna was devoted to the Holy Eucharist and a daily communicant. Even during the pandemic, and later when the cancer horrifically disfigured her beautiful face, Ajna remained adamant about only one thing — receiving Jesus in the Holy Eucharist every single day.

21 January 2026 marks the fourth anniversary of Ajna in the Father’s House, seeing God face to face. And from here she has been busy, drawing more and more hearts and souls to come and follow Him.

Ajna’s grave bears witness to the numerous feet that have come there — and still keep coming, convinced of her sanctity, touched by her story and refreshed in their own spiritual life to follow her example — to become more devoted to the Holy Eucharist. Of all the testimonies (healings, children born to childless parents, difficulties resolved) through Ajna’s intercession, the one most frequently heard is the grace of attending daily Holy Mass — this from people of all ages.

Little wonder from the person who is now called, ‘The Nightingale of the Holy Eucharist’.
