AI: Awesome or Worrisome?
Balance is Needed
AI has become my go-to for everything – from generating code and images to finishing my assignments. So much that I consult AI before making almost any decision. While it’s an incredible tool for saving time and pulling off 'night-before' exam miracles, I’ve noticed a downside: I’ve become hesitant to think for myself. Even for simple tasks, my first instinct is to reach for AI. It’s a brilliant shortcut for research and revision, but I realise I need to find a balance before I lose my own drive to think.

A Great but ‘dangerous’ Assistant
AI helps me tremendously personally and professionally, in my daily tasks and to improve myself. It is like an assistant that helps sort things out in critical situations. Recently, it saved me from a financial scam.
At the same time, I feel I am not properly using my brain and its intellectual capacity. While AI has near accurate answers to almost everything, it can also make mistakes. There are a lot of issues or controversies related to AI – manipulating photos, videos, news or spreading lies or hatred. AI is causing many photo and video editing trends on social media. Personal information shared with AI can be misused by AI companies for their own gain.

Perfect Business Partner
For me, AI has eliminated a lot of iterations. It has helped in creating digital products. Helps in targeted marketing, create content, and also identify customers for my products. In short, it helps in complete strategy for business.

If Unchecked, Can Affect Humanity
Despite AI's widespread accessibility and growing popularity, it has had harmful consequences for many artists and everyday users. This lack of oversight has led to the widespread circulation of low-quality, mass-produced, and heavily altered images across social media platforms such as Twitter. Many artists receive neither credit nor compensation when their work is used (often without permission) to train AI models that generate AI slop content.
Currently, there are no effective regulations in place to prevent AI from exploiting artists and other platform users, leaving them vulnerable. In addition, AI technology requires enormous amounts of water and computing power, making them highly resource-intensive. As a society, we must reconsider our growing dependence on AI or demand stricter regulations to ensure it is used ethically. If left unchecked, AI’s impact will not be limited to artists alone – it may ultimately affect all of humanity.
