Kairos is an ancient Greek word meaning “opportune

moment” or the “supreme moment”. This first issue of Kairos. Global (English) is of course ‘Kairos’.

In the early 90’s as the All Kerala Jesus Youth coordinator, I felt the need for a tool to connect with everyone. As the geographical area was vast, personal meetings became rareand there was a need to share the vision and lifestyle of the movement. It was in such a context that Kairos Malayalam magazine was born. It is in its 20th year of publication and over a period of time the magazine has developed a unique style which is now copied even by other publications.

It has been a long pending dream to bring out this magazine in English. I’ve been getting requests from many quarters – students in Kerala, Jesus Youth from across the globe, parents of

youth and teens whose children cannot read malayalam, etc…to bring out the Kairos Magazine in English. Moreover Jesus Youth has grown and spread across the globe and there is a dire need to connect with one another. Kairos Global has been born as a magazine by the Jesus Youth and for the Jesus Youth.

This magazine is a joint effort of hard work put in by many Jesus Youth across the globe under the leadership of Joshy Joseph (Houston, USA). The intercession for this was the first step and it started many months back. Various teams, software systems, websites, mobile apps, were built and efforts to collaborate with people in different parts of the world were established. The Jesus Youth International Council Coordinator, CC Joseph and team supported significantly. It is by our Lord's grace that we have been able to come out with this magazine. I would like to express my gratitude to all those who have worked behind the Malayalam magazine in the last 20 years, to all those who have put in efforts for this new magazine, the International Council & the Intercession Power House for Kairos.
